HISTORY OF THIS CAR
A MR WILLIAM PIEIFFENBERGER 3rd, PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 1972, PUT IN HIS COLLECTION OF OVER 15 JAGUARS, AND IT JUST SAT THERE UNTIL HIS DEATH IN 2018, IT WAS PURCHASED AS A NON RUNNING CAR, BY A MR STU SIMSBURY, WHO GOT IT RUNNING, HE SAYS HE RE-BUILT THE GEARBOX, NEW BRAKE SYSTEM AND WORK ON CALIPERS, HE HAS ALSO REPLACED WHEELS AND TYRES, AND FITTED A NEW EXHAUST SYSTEM, APPARENTLY THE CAR IS FITTED WITH A VERY RARE 1961 E TYPE STEERING WHEEL ?.
THE CAR IS SAID TO BE CORRECT MILEAGE @ 23,000 MILES, CONSIDERING ITS LONG LAY UP THIS COULD BE CORRECT, AND LOOKING AT THE UNDERSIDE, I WOULD NOT DOUBT IT.
THE CAR BEFORE 1972, HAD A NEW ENGINE FITTED, FROM WHAT APPEARS TO BE A 1966 E TYPE, I DO NOT KNOW THE REASON FOR THIS.
THE UNDERSIDE IS VERY NICE AND RUST FREE, THE LAST OWNER WAS INTENDING ON HAVING IT REPAINTED, HE STRIPPED THE PAINT FROM THE BONNET, AND PRIMED THE OUTSIDE, BUT NEVER WENT ANY FURTHER, EASY TO FINISH AND PAINT IN ITS ORIGINAL COLOUR OF DARK BLUE.
THE INTERIOR IS VERY ORIGINAL, AND JUST THE DRIVERS SEAT SHOWING CRACKING DUE TO BEING 53 YEARS OLD, AGAIN A SMALL FEW TRIM REPAIRS AND CAN BE USED AS IS.
THE ENGINE HAS GOOD OIL PRESSURE, AND SEEMS TO RUN AND DRIVE ALL OKAY.
2+2 SERIES ONE E TYPES ARE VERY UNDER VALUED, AND WILL GO UP, AS THE FHC & ROADSTER ARE OUT OF MOST PEOPLES REACH WITH PRICES GETTING IN EXCESS OF £100,000
